I Don't Believe Me Anymore

I used to think I was enough, think that I never needed love,
I don't believe me anymore.
Through the flood, and through the storm, thought I could do it all alone,
I don't believe me anymore.

Life's got a funny way of showing
That you never know just what's in store,
So if you see me acting tough, if I'm throwing fists instead of hugs,
Just don't believe me anymore.

I said love's just one big Hallmark card, no one could be worth working so hard,
Well, I don't believe me anymore.
I thought the world was filled with fools, that I was an exception to the rule.
I don't believe me anymore.

Sometimes it hits you like a hammer,
Just what it is that life's worth living for.
So if I push you away again, tell you I'm a traveller, not a friend,
Please don't believe me anymore.
