April, 2010: Heather's song, "You Take the Cake"
chosen as finalist in Calgary Folk Fest Songwriting
Contest, Pros and Prose category. Finals will be held
at the Ship and Anchor in Calgary, May 9th.

March, 2010: Heather's song, "Pour Another Ounce
of Rum in the Eggnog" chosen as finalist in the Great
American Song Contest

March 1, 2010: Heather's song, "I Don't Believe Me Anymore" was chosen as one of three finalists in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, R&B category!

February, 2010: Had a great time playing at Alberta Plaza at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver!!  Medalists Alexandre Bilodeau and Jenn Heil were there, as well as Jean Chretien! Very cool.  Thanks to the AFA for the grant that got us out there!

December, 2009:  Our bass player for the last five years, "Cannonball" Shane Sutherland, has decided to leave the band to pursue other endeavours.  You can check out the Bed and Breakfast that he and wife, Becky, are managing here:

December, 2009: We have made our new single "Pour Another Ounce of Rum in the Eggnog" available for listening here!

September, 2009: Just found out that we will be part of the Alberta showcase at the OCFF conference in Ottawa next month!

August, 2009:  Here's a nice review for Versa: Earshot! online

August, 2009:  Radio stations are loving Versa!  It has been showing up on charts across the country, including 4 appearances out of the last 5 on CKUA's Top 30!  CBC Radio Two has put "Restless" on regular rotation, meaning we're getting regular national radio play too!

June, 2009:  Two more grants - yay!  A FACTOR marketing grant, and AFA (Alberta Foundation for the Arts) music project grant! 

May 19, 2009:  We are officially on the road to promote the new CD, "Versa".  First time out to the east coast - should be a great trip.  Ooh - and this time we've got swag - t-shirts, stickers, and frisbees!

April 2009:  We got a FACTOR Independent Loan!  That will help a ton with our brand new CD, "Versa" (the follow-up to Vice) which we are very excited to be releasing soon!

June 11, 2008: Our performance from the Alberta Sessions this
past March was broadcast nationally on CBC Radio 2's program,
Canada Live.  You can also find it on their "concerts on demand" page here:

June 10, 2008: Picked up our copies of the new Calgary Acoustic
CD compilation.  It includes 2 of our tunes:  "Hush Hush", which is also on Vice, and "Papaya Papaya", which we won't be releasing on our own CD until Versa comes out next year.  We'll be bringing copies to sell at our shows.  Other artists include Luis Emilio Rios of Bomba, Kaley Kinjo, Jae Fortier, and Anthony Blaine.

June 2008: Our new CD, "Vice" is complete!  Copies are available online, and at Calgary's MegaTunes already.   More options
on the way!

May 2008: We received a grant from Rawlco Radio, hosts of
Calgary's newest radio station,
97.7 CalgaryFM.  It will help us
finish our new CD, Vice!

March 22, 2008: CBC Radio One - Key of A!
Our concert, recorded at the Epcor Centre in Calgary,
as part of the Alberta Sessions 2008, was broadcast on Katherine
Duncan's show, Key of A, which focuses on Alberta artists.
Our friend John Wort Hannam's concert was featured as well.
It will also be featured nationally on Canada Live in future! 

January 2008: We are going into the studio!
New full-length CD, "Vice" is scheduled to be released in June 2008!
We are thrilled to be working with Rob Smith at Rocky Mountain
Recording Studio in Calgary. He recorded albums with Little
Miss Higgins, Tim Williams, Eric Bibb, Highwater Jug Band,
and many more in 2007.

July 2007: We have joined the
Get Live Music artists' roster.
We are happy to have Shannon Sternloff join our team
as booking agent.

January 2007: We finished recording our new three-song demo, with
the amazing Aaron Bonney - thanks Aaron! The "final" mix is not quite
ready yet but I couldn't wait to post some of this stuff, so the rough
version of two songs are up on our myspace page.

November 28, 2006: I finally started a
myspace page,
with a blog and everything! Log on to subscribe.

I'm gettin' all "21st Century" all of a sudden :)

November, 2006: We are preparing for the "Bandage" video
screening party.  Should be a blast, at the Ironwood on Dec. 18th.
The night will include a screening of the video, and a performance
by the band.

October, 2006: We have begun recording a 3-song demo at
Aaron Bonney's recording studio here in Calgary.  It includes
"Knocked My Socks Off", "Music", and fan favourite,
"Papaya, Papaya". 

August, 2006: Our video is complete, and can be viewed on Doug's

CAPES roster
      (Calgary Arts Partners in Education Society)
      to do songwriting workshops in Calgary schools in 2006/07

April 11, 2005: Made the final round of the
Ship & Anchor
Calgary Folk Festival Songwriting Contest
      in the category "Best Song"!
      They'll be held on May 14th at the Ship and Anchor.

Mar. 15, 2005: Picked up the new CDs yesterday morning!
      And luckily, dropped them off at home before the
      trunk of the car was smashed in later that day!
March, 2005: New CD is complete and
      due to be released in Calgary on the 19th!
      Full band will be there, named or nameless.

February, 2005:New band is together and
      will play first gig in Fernie, BC Mar. 18th!
       Still deciding on a band name,
       but members are as follows:

November 24, 2004: won first place at the
      Dog and Duck songwriters' mic finals!

      Dog and Duck songwriters' contest
      Finals will be held in two weeks - wish me luck!

April, 2004: I have started work on my first "real" CD!
     release is planned for October or November 2004!
