The Web

She feels his look from all the way across the room,
She pulls him in; maybe this will be the one.
He buys the drinks and asks her where she's from,
She's won already - the game has lost its fun.

She waits for the right moment - the attack is very slow.
And just like always, he's the last to know
It looks like a perfect match from an outsider's view
But when the challenge leaves, she goes too.

She closes her eyes
Takes a deep breath and sighs
She won't be made a prisoner or a prize

Welcome to my web...
Hope you're feeling comfortable
Hope you plan to stay awhile
The more that you struggle, the more I win.

She thinks she's found him now - he's perfect through and through
He's everything she wants, inside and out, from every view
Why is it that their glances never meet?
If she could have him, her life would be complete.

As always, circumstances change, and now they're cheek to cheek.
He's everything she thought, and at first, she can hardly speak.
But something's changed inside her, she's not sure just what it is
Guess she was wrong - it was the chase that made her his.

She closes her eyes
Takes a deep breath and sighs
She won't be made a prisoner or a prize... What does she want? What will it take? When will she realize?

Welcome to my web...
Hope you're feeling comfortable
Hope you plan to stay awhile
The more that you struggle, the more I win.
